If you are travelling to the Reading fixtures at Torquay on 11th August or Portsmouth on 14th, the Supporters' Trusts at Torquay & Portsmouth have put together a brief up-to-date guide to help you find all the information you need, such as the pubs frequented by away fans, suggested places to eat, where to park and the low-down on their team. The information can be found on our STAR Travel page.
These guides will hopefully be a feature of future away matches. If you have visited any of the away grounds before and have any tips or information that you can pass onto fellow Reading supporters, including parking, places to eat and drink or things to do away from the game then please contact us at

We would also like any feedback on the published information, particularly if you found it useful. |

Our first away trip is to Torquay on Wednesday 11th August for the 7.45pm kick off in the Carling Cup first round. Coaches depart the Mad Stad at 2.30pm or 2.15pm from Station Hill, Reading. The cost is £20 and STAR members can book tickets at the STAR base situated behind the East Terrace.
There is an option for an all day trip to the seaside (Coach 2) if there is sufficient interest. This will leave the Mad Stad at 8am at a cost of £40. Telephone numbers will be taken at the time of booking.
If you are not familiar with our away travel arrangements visit our STAR Travel pages. |

In aid of Reading FC Academy
Entry fee £5 – win big money and help the Reading FC Academy at the same time!
Once again STAR is running our Team Predictor Competition – your chance to help the Reading FC Academy and win a big prize. Last season’s winner won just over £280 and a donation of £400 was made to Reading FC Academy. The more who enter the bigger the prizes!
Simply select one team from each of 17 groups - 17 teams in all. You score the number of points that team ends the season on. The person with the most points wins 35% of all entry fees, the second highest gets 10%, and the third highest wins 5%. The person with the lowest points total will win an Oxford United souvenir mug but don't let that put you off! Half of all entry fees will be donated to the Reading FC Academy for use on a specific project they could not otherwise afford. You can enter as many times as you like, and you don’t have to be a STAR member to enter. Full details are contained in the entry form which can be downloaded below. Why not forward copies to your friends? Closing Date for entries is 1st September 2010.
