From TUST: The Torquay United Supporters' Trust
Travelling supporters always get a warm welcome in Torquay and we are proud of that fact. The only people who receive short shrift from anyone when we occasionally get the minority of a few idiots who come to be deliberately antagonistic and confrontational.

In terms of what the Reading supporters can expect when they descend on Torquay, well there are a number of things to do, see and enjoy.

Away Fan-friendly Pubs
Generally away supporters populate a pub called The Fortune of War, which is situated at the top of St Marychurch Road, by the junction with Warbro Road and Westhill. There are of course a number of other hostelries in which they would be welcome, including The Union, which is a little further down the St Marychurch Road on the junction with St Pauls Road and another twenty yards down you will find Pub Alibi. At the ground there is a pub called Boots & Laces, which is situated underneath the Family Stand (opposite the away end). Away supporters are welcome as long, of course, as they behave responsibly. It can also get quite busy in Boots & Laces, so if it's full, then there will be an issue about entry. Just a few yards along from Boots & Laces is the club shop and also the reception should anyone need to collect tickets or wishes to purchase some souvenir of their trip to the footballing hotbed that is Plainmoor.

Where to eat
For your hungry supporters seeking out sustenance, St Marychuch Road is known locally as Takeaway Street, with all number and manner of takeaway food outlets. 2 x fish & chip shops, 2 x Chinese takeaways, 2 x Pizza parlours and various others that I cannot recall at present. Suffice to say that there is plenty of choice on offer.

Parking
Parking in and around Plainmoor is predominantly on street. The further away from the ground you get, the easier it will be to find a space. The area of St Marychurch has a couple of large car parks and pubs - Molloys in particular warmly welcomes away fans. The ground is just a 5-7 minute walk from there, so it would be well worth parking there, having a drink and strolling to the ground.

About the Team
One player to look out for would be Billy Kee, a sturdy young striker that we signed from Leicester City. He has scored quite a few goals in pre-season and looks to be a good addition to our striking roster. Another young striker-come-winger is Chris Zebrowski, formerly of Plymouth Argyle, Millwall and Wycombe Wanderers. He's in his second spell at Plainmoor and always gives us a good attacking edge. Elsewhere there's Guy Branston or 'The Pickler' who spent the last few months of last season on loan at Torquay from Burton Albion. He's now signed for us on a year-long deal. He's a bit of a journeyman, but after just a few months at Torquay last season he was voted runner-up in the Player of the Season awards. He was central to our survival and we're hoping to see a lot more of the same from him in the central defensive role. Then there's Lee Mansell, the club's longest serving player, who is in his fourth year at Torquay. What an engine and what passion. He really stirs the players and the fans and leads by example. He is a midfielder, but spent a couple of years as a right back at Plainmoor before reclaiming his midfield berth toward the end of last season.

Torquay United Hopes for the Season
For the forthcoming 2010-2011 campaign, it would be good if we could win the division, thus securing automatic promotion, win the Carling Cup, the FA Cup and the Johnstone Paint Trophy, qualifying for European football next season in doing so. Clearly, we will have to beat Reading to achieve our aim of winning the Carling Cup. That's about it really.

From The Pompey Trust
Welcome to Portsmouth! The old days are long gone, and with an excellent stewarding system and policing on the day, most fans mingle with little trouble. Away fans go in to the Milton End on the corner of Specks Lane. Walking around Fratton Park in club colours is like pretty much any ground in the country, if you are there to enjoy your day and the football, then you will enjoy the atmosphere of one of the Football Leagues oldest grounds!

Parking
Fratton Park is in the middle of a residential area and parking is at a premium. There are car parks that accept away fans on the entrance to Rodney Road to the East of the ground or at Milton Cross school on St Marys Road opposite St Marys Hospital. Residential parking is available around the streets off of Velder Avenue and around the Milton Park area, but you need to get there early.

Away Fan-Friendly Pubs
The most away fan friendly pub is The Good Companion on Velder Avenue/Eastern Road. As with a lot of pubs, the nearer you get to the ground the more difficult it is for away fans to get in. If Reading fans are getting down early, the areas around the City Centre and Gunwharf Quays are nice especially in August and are family friendly. However, both these areas are a car/bus ride from the ground.

Places to Eat
The best places to eat before and after the game are at Gunwharf and around the Southsea area. Your fans are visiting the seaside on an August day after all, so these areas have plenty of outside areas for eating beside the water.

About the Team
Unfortunately due to the demise of the club off the field, the team that Portsmouth fans came to know and love have been decimated. On a recent 3 game tour of America only 6 players with first team experience made the trip. As for who will be in the first team come August 14th is anyone's guess. Michael Brown is still here and with his battling midfield qualities we still have one player ready-made for the rigors of the Championship. In David Nugent, we have a striker who made his name in this division and the hope is under Steve Cotterill that he will flourish again this season.

Hopes for the Season
To be honest we have very little but a season of struggle to look forward to, and to stay in this division will be a feat in itself. After meeting with our new CEO David Lampitt this week, he feels very much the same. A lot of what happens to Pompey this season rests on what happens in the High Court on August 3rd. If we win we can start to move on. One thing is for sure, Reading fans have no fear of 11 goals in our favour again this time around.

We at the Pompey Trust would like to wish the Reading fans good luck for the season.
